Description of Series Two: "The Coming of Age"

These Pieces were inspired by memories from my childhood and the objects are those that I remember actually owning and playing with as a young boy and then experiencing as I got older. I never quite got to be that musician but there was always a sense of sensuality about holding and physically feeling an instrument in my hands. I also wanted to create a feeling of the times, late fifties into the sixties, using the dynamic fabric backrounds to create that feeling of the period.

These pieces are Assemblages in Boxes and vary in size : The Trumpet - 18" x 24" x 7", The Saxophones - 24" x 36" x 7", The Guitars - 24" x 36" x 7"
