Description of Series Three: "Radical woman" This is a full scale piece depicting a "Woman in War" , forced
to accept the brutality of war and yet determined to find the Peace. The
objects she wears are authentic and are of the period during the Vietnam
War. The bombs are actual cluster bombs used to maim and not so much to
kill the enemy. They are placed strategically on the women where she is
most vulnerable and capable of feeding her offspring. She also wears the
symbols of Peace in protest of the senseless destruction. The flower in
the rifle is reminder of the famous photograph from the Kent State Protests,
when the student put the flower in the barrel of the guardsman rifle.
